Sky Watchers is excited to announce that this month’s speaker is Dr. Bill Bottke, a leading scientist and executive director of the Solar System Science and Exploration Division at the Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) in Boulder.
“A Brief Tour Through Recent and Upcoming Asteroid Missions” is the title of Bottke’s talk, drawing upon several of the missions he is part of as a science team member, including NASA’s OSIRIS-REx, Lucy, Psyche, NEO Surveyor, as well as the Emirates Mission to the Asteroid Belt.
Bottke earned his PhD from University of Arizona. He is also Director of the Center for Lunar Origin and Evolution of NASA’s Solar System Exploration Research Virtual Institute.
