From Saturn’s moon Titan. Artwork by Michael Carroll
Join us for another fascinating presentation! Science writer/space artist Michael Carroll takes us on a journey exploring our changing view of Titan, the largest moon of Saturn, since its discovery in 1655.
Our trip will reveal the unfolding knowledge of this mystery moon, and we’ll have a look at some of the remarkably prescient predictions of the past. We’ll round out the evening with a look at concepts for advanced exploration, both robotic and human.
Mike will bring a few copies of his scientific novel “On the Shores of Titan’s Farthest Sea” for sale, as well as his most recent book – Beyond Artemis: Human Expeditions to the Moons of the Solar System https://www.amazon.com/Beyond-Artemis-Expeditions-System-Springer/dp/303197073X
Mike has written three dozen books for adults and children about science. He has illustrated hundreds of magazine and book covers, and he also sometimes does the vacuuming at home.
You don’t need any previous knowledge of astronomy or space exploration. We ask all our presenters to gear their talks for the general public.
