Blasts from the Past!
Dedicated Sky Watcher Dewey Anderson spent time living in Florida in the 1970s and 1980s where he had opportunities to see a number of historic rocket and Space Shuttle launches from the NASA Kennedy Space Center and experienced “inside tours”of the facility.
With degrees in math, physics and computer science from the University of Florida when he experienced these historic space events, Dewey later earned a Master’s Degree in Astrophysics from the University of Colorado at Boulder. There he did research in seismology, solar physics and spectroscopy. He has also worked on live television productions and Sky Watchers is fortunate to have his expertise in making our in-person and Zoom meetings run smoothly.
During our meeting, local Sky Watcher Leonard David will also provide an update on international space missions. Sky Watcher John Williams will highlight recent astronomy news and share some of his astrophotography as well.
